Smearing Robert Henderson

Elsewhere in this issue Jane Affleck continues the story of Malcolm Kennedy (See Lobster 39 for the Kennedy story) and his continuing persecution by persons unknown, but presumably not a million miles away from some branch of the British state. Other people connected to this journal have been harassed. John Burnes who writes in this issue and whose story was outlined in Lobster 36, has had weeks off-line caused by a succession of computer viruses. The viruses started arriving shortly after he signed a contract to write a volume on MI5 for the Pocket Essentials series.

I wrote about Robert Henderson and his experience of having Special Branch and a tabloid sicced onto him by the Blairs in Lobster 39. Attacked this way merely for writing letters to the then Leader of the Opposition, Henderson has been using such tools as are available to the private citizen - Data Protection legislation, the Interception of Communications Tribunal and the Parliamentary Ombudsman - to try to (a) discover who was doing what to him (b) try and make our politicians and state officials accountable. Henderson must now be high on the roll of honour that is the list of people the British state wish would disappear.

It was thus not entirely a surprise when Henderson discovered on 11 April that the following had been posted to a large number of British Internet news groups. I have deleted Henderson's address, phone number and the url of the website concerned.
