Hilaire Belloc

Version v. 29 July 2024

Hilaire Belloc The Jews.   Belloc's book is sometimes said to be very good and very informative, and a good introduction to the entire Jewish Question.

This is a mistake; The Jews has omissions and errors. The most important is Belloc's claim that Jews opposed the 'Great War', in fact they wanted it. He must have left many bewildered and puzzled readers. I've reviewed the book at length, but added a newly-written summary of Belloc's views. I know from experience how very many readers shy away nervously from the subject, so I'm facing Belloc head-on, and explaining his mistakes. So we have a specially-written overview of a Roman Catholic, not very philosophically certain, half in fear of Jews, doing his best to look at the world.

Hilaire Belloc on Islam Some notes by Raeto West. Belloc, partly French, was well aware of Islamic invasions of France, Venice, Vienna. He considered Islam was a heresy of Roman Catholicism, that is, derived from Catholicism. He never seems to have guessed that Islam was invented and promoted by Jews. And he never guessed that the Chinese and/or Mongols were partly controlled by Jews.
As with other controlled opposition, notably of the 20th/21st centuries, this has allowed Jews to benefit from endless confusion, which I hope will prove temporary.
